WordPress Building Blocks is all about learning to use WordPress and make the most out of it.
Naturally, when you’re using WordPress you also get involved with hosting. Then there are all the other tools and skillsets that go along with creating a website that attracts the audience you want. Things like:
- Choosing a theme
- Selecting the right plugins
- Keyword Research
- Building a Membership site
- Online training
- Lead generation
- Selling ebooks or other digital products
- And more, depending on your business
But what if there’s an even easier way?
What if you could use WordPress, but in an environment where someone else takes care of all the technical stuff?
Now you can.
Introducing the Rainmaker Platform
Rainmaker gives you a turnkey website solution based on WordPress.
Let me say it again. . . This is not some proprietary site builder. It’s WordPress. . . made even easier.
Why does it matter?
When you’re running an online business, you don’t want to rely on a platform you don’t own. That’s because companies come and go, platforms change (think about all the changes to Facebook in the past few months!), and if you’re using someone else’s platform you could end up with nothing to show for your hard work if they close up shop.
That’s why I use WordPress — it’s open source, freely available, and it’s not going to disappear.
With WordPress, I’m in control.
The drawback, especially if you’re a solopreneur, is that there’s a lot to learn and manage.
Rainmaker Lets you focus on your business, not on the technical stuff
The Rainmaker platform is a turnkey system. You get:
- Top-notch managed hosting
- WordPress is already installed
- Access to 27 premium themes from StudioPress, including one created exclusively for the Rainmaker platform
- Tools to help you build your audience
- Built-in podcasting
- Built-in membership modules for your site
- Fast and personal support
- Digital sales engine
- Easy-to-use interface
You have everything you need in one place, for one price.
Now, a turnkey solution is great, but it does have a few drawbacks. For example, you can’t use any plugin you feel like. Instead, Rainmaker controls the plugins that are installed. But if you’re okay with that, it can be a great option!
Who’s Behind Rainmaker?
The Rainmaker Platform is the brainchild of Brian Clark and Copyblogger Media.
Back about seven years ago, Brian started a blog called Copyblogger where he taught people about online copywriting. Today that blog reaches an audience of about half a million readers every month — without advertising.
Brian really liked what a guy named Brian Gardner was doing with a WordPress theme design company called StudioPress, so he bought it.
As the audience for Copyblogger grew, hosting became an issue. Brian brought a hosting company, called Synthesis, into the fold.
Along the way, they developed tools for their own use — tools for SEO copywriting, creating landing pages, and making membership sites.
Eventually, they all merged into one company, called Copyblogger Media.
And now, Copyblogger Media is offering the Rainmaker platform [aff] to the public.
Let’s Talk about Managed Hosting
Managed hosting means you never have to think about:
- site security
- updating WordPress
- updating plugins
- site speed
The technical team handles all of that for you. That alone can save you hours every week, give you peace of mind, and help you rank higher in the search engines.
It’s been through extensive testing
Rainmaker was quietly introduced to a select group last May, and I’m happy to say, I was part of that group.
We were tough to satisfy! A mixture of seasoned WordPress developers, WordPress site builders and non-technical folks who just wanted to try out a better way to build an online business, we put the Rainmaker team through their paces.
While the original offering was pretty good, we demanded more, and better, and stronger.
And we got it!
Now, Rainmaker is ready for prime time.
