Social sharing is more important than ever if you want your WordPress site to stand out from the competition. You can help this along by making it easier for your readers to share your good stuff, and to follow you on social networks.
Elegant Themes has created some nifty new updates to its Monarch Social Sharing plugin (see here for my initial review). It gives you lots of options to help site visitors to spread the word about you on social media.
Floating Sidebar is More Versatile
Before, the social icons only floated to the left. Now you can choose which side you want them on, which is a big improvement. Especially if you have menus or other navigation on the left, you don’t want your social sharing to cover up the menu.
“All Networks” Button
Nothing is uglier or more off-putting than a huge area underneath a post or article that shows every social network in existence. Monarch now offers your readers the ability to share with whatever network they want, without making your share bar ugly and clunky. You still display the icons for the networks that work best for you. But Monarch adds one more, when you’ve selected the All Networks option, that opens to a new array of choices for your reader.
Social Shares on Homepage
Monarch is now smart enough to identify the kind of content on your homepage, and be able to share it. Readers can share your newest post directly from the homepage now. This is very cool, because most homepage shares just lead to the homepage, not to a specific article or page.
Improved Stats
Monarch now tracks stats like:
- All-Time Network Shares
- Most-Shared Content
- Individual Page and Post Stats
- Auto-updating Follow Counts
Automated Pop-Up and Fly-In Triggers
I’m not a big fan of pop-ups — in fact, I don’t like them or use them at all — but for those who do, this is an improvement. New triggers let you automatically control how and where your readers see a pop-up or fly-in message.
Along with adding these new features, they fixed a few bugs as well.

I really like these tips thanks for sharing.
Floating sharing icons help a lot in social sharing of a webpage. I mostly use them for blog websites. I am having a subscription of Elegant themes so I am using “Monarch” social plugin for social sharing. It has great feature and really very easy to configure. But there are also many free plugins and solutions available for this.
